Utilization rates for digital health solutions are high at Texas Oncology based on results presented at ASCO 2022. What do you attribute this high utilization to?

Well, that’s been a key strategic initiative at Texas Oncology, if you think about how we’re using digital healthcare to improve the cancer care journey for patients. We have tried to use digital healthcare to ensure that patients can receive better care at home. As you know, it is truly Texas Oncology’s mission to provide innovative, high-quality, and affordable cancer care near you.

So really, digital healthcare is perfectly aligned with Texas Oncology’s mission. And we’ve invested in a partnership with Navigating Cancer, to think about how we work with electronic patient-reported outcomes, to characterize patient symptoms while on active treatment, to systematize patient care pathways when patients call our triage nurses. And in doing so, by providing digital health solutions, we are able to reduce our response time to patients, we are able to better characterize patient symptoms.

We believe it is about better patient care. And while it’s not easy, I think for any practice to embrace new digital healthcare tools, I think that’s the way of the future. This is how healthcare continues to innovate and support patients in easy-to-use ways for patients in their homes.
